Hi Folks,
Not to flog a dead horse, I have done due diligence and read thru peoples post about video problems and have tried updating WMP11, etc. Somehow I cannot play the higher quality WMV files (there was a couple of files from Faye Valentine massage that played, but the rest didn't). I can play the mpeg files, but would prefer better resoultion.
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks!
ps: the notice says (your typical) it may not have the codec or support the compression type.

Hello...
My assumption is that you are using a Windows OS. Without having additional information, it is difficult to properly diagnose the problem. But, I can offer a solution that will probably have you back in error-free Pornland very shortly.
The following are a few popular media players that may be downloaded free of charge. Both are solid and provide additional functions that are not available with WMP.

If this does not solve the problem, please feel free to inquire at any time. Include your operating system, the error message, and any other information that you think may be helpful.

Hi,
Thanks for the suggestion. I will give those players a try....but to update my info, I am running Windows Vista. As I had mentioned, a couple of the files played ok, but the rest didn't.
Also, if I could fix the WMP11 issues, then that is my prefered player of choice. The message that come up say:
"The player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file".
Any ideas to fix WMP 11 on vista?
Thanks so much!

Hi....
Thank you for updating your information.
"The player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file".
I am fairly certain that WMP11 supports a .wmv file type. As a result, let's concentrate on codecs. I am not sure how extensive your knowledge is, so here is an excerpt from a Microsoft Windows Vista web page.
"A codec is software that is used to compress or decompress a digital media file, such as a song or video. Windows Media Player and other programs use codecs to play and create digital media files.
For example, when you rip a song from an audio CD to your computer, the Player uses the Windows Media Audio codec to compress the song into a compact WMA file. When you play that WMA file (or any WMA file that might be streamed from a Web site), the Player uses the Windows Media Audio codec to decompress the file so the music can be played through your speakers."
Below you will find a link to a page that provides many plugins and codecs, some free of charge and others at a cost.

Could you please provide me with a few specific files that cause this problem. I can determine which codecs were used, and also emulate the scenario to further aid you.
By the way, I have used both of the alternative media players that were mentioned in previous correspondence. They are safe and will not cause conflict with your existing system. I would be interested to see if either plays the files flawlessly. I completely understand your preference of WMP11, so I will do anything to help. I am a fan also.
Thank you for your inquiry, and please do not hesitate to ask for help in the future.
Happy Holidays.

Hey, Thanks for all your help. I went to the plugins page and downloaded the latest divx codecs and it all flows smoothly now....no pun intended. So its now back to one handed browsing. Lol...Yay!
And in case anyone else is wanting to know....go to the links "wondering" pasted and scroll down till you see Divx. Connect to the site and get the latest version.
Thanks again!

So. Ive downloaded various hentai videos, but they are all in .mkv format. My Xbox 360 can access Windows Media Center so I can run movies on my TV, but it doesnt support .mkv format. Is there any way I can convert the files to WMV format so they will work?
I dont want to pay for any special software though. Thanks
